Finally.....Easter!!

Warning...this is a post chock full of sucky pictures! ha! I feel like I should just throw that out there since I am pursuing photography these days. These were totally a bust, and I know it, but I still documented the holiday & that's what matters!

Despite the lack of personal of documenting our personal lives lately and spending MANY MANY hours at the computer, we did celebrate Easter! I actually bought more than a dozen eggs to dye this year, and I was totally not a perfectionist about them! I just let the kids do them & it was a lot more enjoyable for anal old me!
Photobucket
As always, mammy helped them..they'd rather have her than me anyway!
Photobucket

Grant took the whole thing very seriously.

This was technically the day before Easter, but just this is what I get when I tell my kiddos I want to take their picture together...
Photobucket
Easter morning, the baskets were in kid-sized suitcases to prepare them for an upcoming vacay we've got planned!
Photobucket

Photobucket
We hid the little marshmallow eggs all over the house & they had a blast finding them. I don't think we've eaten any of them though.
Photobucket

We had breakfast at church Easter Sunday and had to be there at 8 am...We live really close by, but we are NEVER on time, so to be there at 8 is a feat! So we tried to take pics after breakfast but before church started & it was really really bright outside! Pair that with uncooperative kids, and you get these...

My brother came to town to go to church and I made him try to take a family pic of us....These TOTALLy crack me up. The funniest part is that he didn't realize he was holding the shutter button down & my camera takes several frames per second. I ended up with about 30 pics of us all with different faces. I was dying laughing when I uploaded them!

And let's just talk about my hair here...I do nothing to my hair..I leave with it wet every morning & by the time I get to work it's dry & I brush it before going inside, and all is good. On Sundays, since we do breakfast & all at home, it's typically dry before church. However, on Easter, since we just got dressed & left, it was still wet & unbrushed after drying...hence all that crazy stuff going on... YIKES!
Photobucket
Just look at Pook's face & Claire appears to be in pain...
Photobucket
Grant is such a cheeseball & it is so frustrating!

The kids LOVE riding in this trailer behind Papa's mower. They would stay in there for hours while he rides in circles!
Photobucket

And just to end this on a good note...the following Sunday they actually both smiled for a few pics before church :-)! Grant is a man of many faces...

Sweet Kiddos!

Saturday evening, I took some pics of this beautiful family. Heath and I have gone to church together since we were tiny. We took these out as his parents home, and his mom showed me a picture of us together at church when we were maybe 2 or so. I am so jealous that their baby girl has blue eyes.. and I mean BLUE eyes..they are amazing! Cade is such a sweetie, and made me laugh probably more than I made him :-)! Thanks for having me Kelly!

A New Challenge

This past Sunday afternoon, I had the pleasure of photographing these gorgeous children and their families. I have never seen so many beautiful kids in one family (nor have I ever photographed so many at once), and I am in love with all of their names!! They picked the location, and when I got there I was just giddy because it was so perfect. It's a historic home that is open to the public, but apparently a well kept secret because I had never heard of it, despite the fact that it's only about 20 minutes from where I live.

The whole family

Future heartbreaker much?? So handsome!

A little brotherly love
Photobucket

I didn't really intend to get a picture out of this, I was really just getting a meter reading to get my settings for the next set up. However, even though her head is totally cut off I loved this one. btw...I think it's totally acceptable to cut heads off in close ups, I would just usually have some forehead in there too :-)!
Photobucket

And this one...I wish it was one of my little girl..that light, that setting, and that pose!!! I'm dying to go back & get one of my own kids!
Photobucket

Seriously, she was such a little model, and how cute is that flower barrette??!
Photobucket

I was pretty shocked when I found this on my camera. This precious girl was such a mess. She was cracking me up with her stories about her boyfriend, and thought the home belonged to me. I'm so glad I got this sweet shot of her!
Photobucket

LOVE this shot! Too bad the babies were too small to stand with them..that just means we need to do it again when they're standing and everyone's in the same place again :)!
Photobucket

Such a beautiful family!
Photobucket

I am so glad I got the opportunity to take these. Thank you so much you guys! I hope you see some that you love! There are lots more to come!

Farmer Jason Fun!!

To say it's been a busy few weeks would be a huge understatement!! I am thoroughly exhausted, but also super excited about things that have been going on. You may have noticed that I've been taking LOTS of pictures lately of others! I've still got a slew of things things to do to be "official," but I'm getting close, which is super exciting!! So, as I've said before if you or anyone you know needs a photographer, please get in touch with me!!

Back to the subject at hand...about 2 weeks ago, we went to a Farmer Jason concert. I had no clue what he sang, but knew the kids see him on PBS sometimes and love him. His songs are clever & catchy, and we had a wonderful time!!

Grant & Molly waiting for the show to start
Photobucket
When FJ first came out, Claire freaked. She was screaming "Let's go home!" over and over again. It worries me a little bit, because we have a trip to Disney planned & if she's scared of a man with a guitar what is she going to think of a giant mouse?!
Photobucket
At one point, they told all of the kids to come down to the front & do the "doggie dance" in the aisle. The guy in the blue hat, who from what I gathered is his entertainment attorney, judged the "dance-off" and he picked Grant as the winner! They pulled him up on stage & he won a Farmer Jason DVD, which worked out great because we brought zero cash to buy ANYTHING!!
Photobucket
I cannot tell you how many times that DVD has been watched since this concert. Claire is obsessed with it. Her favorite song is Punk Rock Skunk, and I could listen to her say those words over and over. It's that cute!!

Have a great week!!

Another Little Love

I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet chunk of love on Tuesday. He was over 10 lbs at birth, but that's still so tiny compared to my two crazy kids!! He's the 2nd baby of one of my old friends. His big brother is only 13 mths old, so his momma has her hands full. They were both super sweet, and I had a blast spending the afternoon with them.

Six Month Sweetie

I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet baby girl for the 2nd time last weekend. She was so smiley this time, and we got a ton of sweet pictures of her. I hope you love them! Thank you again for allowing me to capture this sweet age!
