Thankful
So many things to be thankful for....
These 2 little faces that came running to the kitchen this morning
even though they steal my bed (and my sleep) on a regular basis
and this guy that teaches them about so many things..
Happy Thanksgiving!!

For Laura Beth..
I tried to capture some shots of Carolina for Laura Beth, but let me start this by saying this is how Carolina felt about my camera :-)!
I did get some sweet ones, though she's not smiling in the majority of them. She was just not too sure about me & that camera!!
Big brother was a ham and would've smiled all day long!
She finally got what she really wanted..her lovie, paci & her momma!!
Soon, I really will post pictures of my own kids again! Everyone has been so gracious letting me practice taking pictures of them, plus I've been busy at work. I'm hoping to work on my own Christmas card pictures this weekend...that usually just results in frustration, but I'm crossing my fingers!!

another practice round..
so i got another practice round in this week. lyla let me come try to get a few shots of the girls for their christmas cards. i'm not posting any of those here, but thought i'd throw in a few others. lyla warned me that mamie was a fireball when the camera was out, and she lived up to that. she reminded me so much of claire. despite that, i think we still ended up with some sweet shots of her, even if alot of them are of her back or profile :)! lyla - thanks again! i hope you find something you can use!!

More of My Little Guy
A little guy that's getting bigger by the day I should say! I can hardly pick him up any more & Lord help me when he's not cooperating. I need to really beef up my upper body strength!!
As I mentioned in the photo challenge below, about 2 weeks ago I took Grant to a church around the corner one afternoon to try and get some fall shots. I wanted to go there because their grounds were literally covered in freshly fallen yellow leaves. However, most of the shots I got that were any good are only of his head & not in the leaves! He was distracted in the leaves by a ladybug and that was all she wrote!
I did get a few that I really like. I've realized that I tend to shoot ALOT of really tight head shots, so I'm going to try and branch out from that a bit next time!

I ♥ Faces Photo Challenge
This is the first time I've ever participated in one of these. The theme this week over at I ♥ Faces is "Autumn Beauty." About 2 weeks ago I took Grant to a church that's grounds were covered in leaves. He humored me for a bit, and then not so much....this is one of those moments. I did end up with some great shots, however they seem not to have the leaves in them...go figure. I'll post them separately. You can click on the button above to see other entries.

Sweet & Sassy Sophie
Angie took me up on my request for willing practice subjects and let me take some pictures of Sophie today. She was the quite the little model! These are just a few of the precious shots that I got. Thanks again for letting me practice on her. She was such an easy subject! I hope you like them!

No Victory Speech, but more pictures....
I was hoping to be publishing a "We Won" post this morning from the contest I mentioned down below. Unfortunately, we did not win the contest over at Courtney's blog. The competitor in me really wants to know how far back we were, but I guess it's really not important. She's still the cutest chick I know!! Thanks to all of you that voted for her. I was overwhelmed by all of the people telling me that they'd voted for her either verbally or by email!
I have to post a few more Halloween pictures since Mr. Incredible hasn't made his appearance here yet. I have to admit I am not a fan of super hero costumes, and I did my best to talk him out of this. He was insistent on Mr. Incredible, and when I saw the costume at Target for $19.99, I gave in. I have a horrible history of spending waaaay too much on costumes, but this year I did really well. Only $20 on this one, and Claire's was borrowed from Kelly. I only spent $10 for orange tights for her! He did look really cute with the muscles!
Believe it or not, this wasn't posed. If I'd tried to pose them, the shot would've been of the back of their heads!
This picture totally cracks me up because it totally reflects how I feel like I look from behind! The costume actually made her walk with a waddle, which was even more fitting. ok...totally off subject, but did anyone else used to watch the Hans Christian Anderson movie?? It was one of my favorites & while I was typing this, the "Ugly Duckling" song that he sings on it popped into my head, in particular the "with waddle and a quack" line :-)!!

When it came to trick or treating, Claire was Miss Independent!! She would not let me help carry her bag or help her up the walk or anything. She was determined to do it alone, even when her bag was getting pretty heavy. She quickly figured out that we were going to the houses that had lights on, and was pretty much leading me. She even went to the houses with scary creatures that Grant wouldn't go near. One house had a witch that "tooted" and she got the biggest kick out of that!
And, of course we had to sample some candy when we got home. Grant picked this hand...scary!
