It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Summer!

Due to a very rainy and unseasonably cool May around here, swimming season is just heating up. We kicked it off last Saturday and have been 4 times in the past week. There's a cute little girl whose bathing suit body cracks me up! I so wish that my rolls and cellulite were as precious as hers! Today, we actually had our 1st minor scare when Claire decided to take a head 1st tumble into the pool trying to fill up her bucket. I was right beside her & rolled off into the pool to rescue her. She didn't even cry, but let out a big burp from the water she swallowed.
This is how we'll spend most of our weekends from now until September..hanging out at Nana and Papa's pool. I love this time of year...until it's 103 degrees and 100% humidity!
here she is checking out the water

i just had to take a picture of her back & her ponytail. i wish i could've gotten one standing up, but i was always too afraid she'd head straight into the water!

i am really hoping that this will be the year that it all "clicks" for grant. i'm ready for him to be floatie free and a little more daring. swimming lessons start in a few weeks, so we'll see what happens after that.

Totally off subject, I planted 2 tomato plants this year for the very 1st time. It's a little spot that I usually put flowers in, but Claire has deemed it her digging spot, so I didn't even bother with it. Instead I put 2 tomatoes, and she has the rest of the area to dig around. I L-O-V-E tomatoes..like nothing you've ever seen. I could eat 2 or 3 homegrowns in a sitting in the summer. It's by far my favorite food of the summer! Needless to say, I am so excited to see these puppies growing!

  1. Grant looks like he is doing really well with his arm floats. I haven't tried those yet with my kids. Love Claire's ponytail. It looks like you all are going to have a lot of fun swimming in that pool this summer.

  4. we planted some tomato plants too and we had one tomato show up recently. We were very proud of it until a friend's little 2 year old decided to pick it. I just couldn't get to her fast enough. When she picked it, she said, "apple?" i was secretly crushed
